Special courses for your workplace
The minimum participation for such a course is 15 people and that is the basic fee charged for the course. The workplace then manages registration and provides accommodation.
Lecturers
Thelma Hafþórsdóttir Byrd
Occupational therapist
Thelma is an occupational health and safety specialist with a focus on the musculoskeletal system. She is also a personal trainer and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in occupational therapy from the University of Akureyri in 2012. Then she also completed the basic level in music with an focus on singing at F.Í.H. Thelma carries out education related to ergonomics, e.g. with lectures, brochures and instructional videos. She also carries out workplace audits and plans for safety and health at the workplace, which includes a risk assessment. Thelma is one of two instructors on our retirement course.
Magnea Einarsdóttir
Retired former school principal
Magnea completed a teacher's degree from KHÍ in 1990. After working as both a supervisor and assistant principal, she completed a Diploma in Personnel Management from EHÍ in 2005, but from there the path led to a Master's program in Human Resources Management at HÍ in the winter of 2005 - 2006. Magnea worked as a teacher, academic advisor and social work teacher at Hólabrekkól from 1990 – 2000. Was assistant principal at Hólabrekkól from 2000 – 2006. Was principal at Digranesskóli 2006 – 2009, at Álfhólsskóli 2009 – 2010 and at Snælandsskóli 2011 – 2023. Hobbies are home, family, good friendships, skiing and general outdoor activities. In parallel with her work, she has sat on boards related to sports and social activities, and the board of the sports association Gerplu and the Gymnastics Federation of Iceland can be mentioned in particular.
